I feel honored and overjoyed to have been part of the family of the Iraqi play ”We Are The Reason’’. A theatrical sociopolitical comedy created by and to the Iraqi community in London. Written by Hamida Al Arabi and directed by Ahlam Arab
Ahlam, it couldn’t be more ironic that her name in Arabic means, “DREAMS”.
This Iraqi Artist/Director/Actress/Visionary/Icon/Warrior, shared with us one of her many dreams when she took us under her warm, big wings and made us fly with her on a journey into the unknown. A journey of blood, sweat and tears but also of love, joy and laughter, brought to life by the creative force of Ahlam & the volunteering soldiers in her army.

Against all the odds and obstacles, the show was a huge success. Tickets were fully sold out and the demands for additional dates are non-stop.
I can not thank this inspiring woman enough, firstly for asking me to travel this magical adventure with her, and secondly for being the compassionate, accepting, loving mother, who believed in us when we didn’t have faith in ourselves, and who embraced our imperfections & saw them as beauties.
